Mr. Amin Mohammed Ibrahim Appointed New DCI

Mr. Amin Mohammed Ibrahim is the new Director of Criminal Investigations. Mr. Amin was appointed vide a gazette notice dated October 14, 2022, to replace former Director George Kinoti who tendered his resignation and has since been redeployed to the public service commission. 

This follows a vetting exercise of 10 candidates conducted by the National Police Service Commission, which forwarded its recommendations to His Excellency the President to make the appointment. 

Mr. Amin served as the Internal Affairs Unit Director before to being hired, with responsibility for looking into complaints about the police.

The newly appointed DCI chief is a familiar face at the Directorate, having previously held a number of prominent roles there, including those of head of the DCI Investigations Bureau, head of Operations, and unit chief for O/C Banking Fraud, among other specialized departments.

He will undoubtedly bring new energy to the nation’s top investigative organization and handle the constantly shifting dynamics of crime with his significant experience in the field of investigations both inside and outside the Directorate.

Mr. Amin Ibrahim Mohammed is welcomed by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
