By Shadrack Nyakoe

Businessman and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce Industry(KNCCI) president Richard Ngatia has scared his rivals in Nairobi gubernatorial race following the release of Mizani Africa opinion polls.

Ngatia has garnered 29.2% per cent popularity in Nairobi as a result of a series of meetings he conducts daily with various groups including women Saccos, Boda Boda associations, the clergy and youth groups.

The Opinion Survey between 5th to 12th January 2022 across 17 Constituencies in the city placed Ngatia on top with   29.2 percent followed by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru who garnered a support of 24.1 percent and Westlands law maker Tim Wanyonyi came close at 19.1 percent.

Most aspirants have relented from the gubernatorial race in the City after the KNCCI Boss has been endorsed by various groups within all the 85 wards in Nairobi including the nominated and elected members of county assembly.

In a meeting with the clergy yesterday in Kangemi, Ngatia said he has a great vision for Nairobi.

“I am aware of the needs of Nairobi residents ranging from the dilapidated roads in, water shortage, poor sewerage and drainage, small and medium enterprises humiliation by City Askaris will be a thing of the past in my regime,” said Ngatia.

He at the same time urged Nairobians to take votes as it is through fair and transparent elections victory will be achieved.
